The new update supports Google’s Publisher Profile for company / brand pages on Google +.

So, as well as being able to connect individual authors with blog posts on your site, you’re now able to connect the entire site with your Google + company / brand page.

The update simply adds another setting to the plugin settings page where you place the URL of your company or brand’s page on Google +

If you already have the plugin installed, head to the plugin page in your WordPress Dashboard to grab the update. Otherwise you can download the plugin at the WordPress repository here.

In the post on his blog he talks about how he uses our plugin Custom Post WP Gallery.

And not any ordinary menu either. When a user is in a particular section of the site we want to show the user pages that relate to that section.

Our new plugin: WP Child Page Menu Widget does all of this! And makes it very straight forward to achieve a great looking smart menu in a widget area.

Uses who have recently updated WordPress to 3.5.x should also install this update. It addresses a problem where after updating to WordPress 3.5 there was a Javascript conflict in the WordPress Dashboard.

We have recently implemented a new system to provide automatic updates for all of our WordPress Plugins. The new system means that no longer do you have to store your HelpForWP.com username & password in your WordPress setup in order to see updates when they are available.

Users who have purchased plugins before January this year should follow these instructions to download the newer version of their plugin and obtain their license key, once this update is completed manually all future updates will be available via the WordPress plugin dashboard.

 Move to the new system

• Login to your account here at HelpForWP.com
• Navigate to the Purchase History Page
• Download each plugin you’ve purchased
• Take a note of the license key for each plugin
• Install the plugin in your WordPress site via FTP
• Activate the plugin with the relevant license key
• done!

If you don’t remember your user / password, please use the password recovery tool located here.

All of our plugins are sold with 12 months of free updates, the date of purchase has been migrated to this new system so as long as you update your plugin you will continue to have access to all updates a year after your purchase date.

Please open a support request if you have any problems at all migrating to our new system.

So in this update we’ve given you the ability to select between the two Yahoo! interfaces. If the stocks you would like to display don’t work on the first one then try the alternative interface.

The selection of Yahoo! interface is made on the WP Stock Ticker options page, see below for a screen shot.

How to update

Users of version 2.5 will be able to download the update simply by visiting the Plugin screen in your WordPress Dashboard, 2.6 will be listed as an update.

Users of older version need to download the plugin by logging into your account here on HelpForWP.com and then visiting the Purchase History section.

We are long time users and fans of the WordPress form plugin – Gravity Forms.

The main change in this release is support for hosting setups where the verification of external SSL certificates is not enabled or not available. When connections to Zoho CRM are made, they are made over SSL. Some users have experienced problems if their hosting provider does not correctly validate the SSL certificates.

In this situation now you can now choose to disabled the validation of the SSL certificate when connecting to Zoho.

We recommend that you leave the validation in place but if your hosting does not support it, it’s can be turned off.

See the screen shot below, turn the SSL Compatibility option to on if you’re experiencing problems connecting to Zoho CRM.

In addition to this, the 2.2.3 update has some other minor bug fixes. Please login to your account to download this update unless you have saved your HelpForWP.com details in your WordPress dashboard in which case you can do the update automatically.

New Charts!

The update features the ability to display charts when a user clicks an individual ticker symbol. The charts are generated by Yahoo Finance as is the data feed for the plugin.

In the settings of the plugin you can choose between line, bar and candlestick charts. Once enabled there is also a setting that controls the location; either above or below the ticker.

Version 2.4 also fixes some minor bugs as reported in our Support Forum.

Don’t forget that you can now install updates right inside WordPress, ensure you have your HelpForWP.com username and password stored in the plugin settings, then visit your Plugin page in the WordPress Dashboard to install the update. Alternatively login to your account here to download and install via FTP.

We are very keen to keep development going on this plugin and to offer more functionality. Today sees the release of the Pro version of the plugin. It’s available for just $15 (Australian Dollars) here.

The Pro version sees a lot of work completed to make the plugin more robust. We’ve received many reports that the Yahoo! Finance API was not available for short periods of time and this left the plugin displaying no data.

Now if the API is not available we will have a fall back or cached data set that we can display until the data is once again available from Yahoo.

Compare the Free and Pro versions

The free version of WP Stock Ticker is still available from the WordPress plugin repository, but the Pro version is exclusively available here on HelpForWP.com.

The Pro version has the following features:

• Unlimited stock codes (free version supports 5 only)
• Unlimited currency pairs (free version supports 5 only)
• Ability to control the cache time in minutes (free version will get updated prices once only per 24 period)
• Option to remove the WP Stock Ticker text from the ticker when displayed
