This tutorial is for version 1.x of our plugin. Version 2.x has a different method to set the owner of a deal.
We have posted a number of tutorials for our Gravity Forms to Pipedrive WordPress plugin this month.
In the last set of tutorials we dealt with these two topics:
- Send deals to a specific stage in your pipeline
- Send deals one one pipeline or another based on user input in your form
If you missed you’re interested in these topics you can find them here.
In this tutorial we are going to cover how to set the deal owner in Pipedrive. While we focus on setting one deal owner for the form if you review some of the other tutorials you can probably work out how to set the deal owner dynamically based on input from the user in the form.
Let’s begin.
You need the user ID for whom you’d like to assign deals. In your Pipedrive account, visit:
Settings —> Users & permissions
You will see all users added to your CRM account.
Click the user name, it will then take you to the user edit page where you can determine the user id from the end of the URL.
Next, in your Gravity Form, create a hidden field with name “Deal owner ID“. Set default value to the user ID that you located in the previous step.
Now, when you are mapping this form to Pipedrive, map this field to the Pipedrive option “User ID of Owner”.
When a user competes your form it will now be automatically assigned to the user that you have setup.
