Today we have released a small update for Featured Images for Categories.
Version 1.4.4 is available to all users with a current licence as a free update, visit the plugin’s setting page or the WordPress plugin page to install the update.
The changes in this version are not large but will be very useful for some users. Previously when displaying featured images from your categories or custom taxonomies there was no support to show the name of the category with the image.
This version addresses the problem.
In the screenshot opposite the new version of the plugin is displaying the featured images with the name of the category above each.
The widget allows you to show the name above or below, alternatively you can turn it off.
The screenshot below show the new setting in the widget.

If you’re new to Featured Images for Categories here’s the quick run down. In the same way that WordPress allows you to select a featured image for a page or post, the plugin allows you to add an image to a category, as a featured image.
If you use custom taxonomies then you’re also in luck because the plugin has full support for these too.
The screenshot here show you how to add associate an image with a category.
Then on the front end of your WordPress site there is a number of options. There is a shot-code that has a variety of options that allows you a lot of control over the display. Then there are two widgets that make it easy to display featured images in any WordPress widget area.
