30 June 2014Google has recently moved its new analytics platform out of beta, Google Universal Analytics is now available for mainstream use.
Our Google tracking plugin Google Analytics Tracking For Forms works with the older classic version of Google Analytics and is not currently compatible with the newer Universal Analytics.
The older version of analytics works by using a set of cookies that are set in the browser as the user visits a website. One of these cookies ‘UTMz’ is responsible for tracking the referring URL, it’s this cookie that our plugin uses to access the data and make it available to your webforms on your site.
Universal Analytics no longer sets this cookie and this is the reason why our plugin does not currently work with the newer version of Google’s tools.
If you’ve purchased the plugin in June 2014 and use Universal Analytics you are eligible for a refund, please contact our support team to discuss this.
