WP Stock Ticker: Now includes a static display option

June 18, 2013 by Peter 10 Comments

We have released an exciting update to our Stock Marketing Plugin for WordPress, WP Stock Ticker Pro.

What’s New in 2.7.3?

New jQuery

We have replaced the jQuery engine, the update now provides an improved slider that wraps around immediately at the end of your stock quotes. It’s very smooth and we think our current users will love it as many of you have asked for this to be improved for a while now.

Static Display Options

Static Display of Stock and Currency PricesAs well as the ticker version the plugin now has the option to display a static block of quotes as well as the scrolling ticker.  This block can be inserted via a new shortcode, a new widget or a PHP function call, it’s up to you.

There are two options with this new static display. Just the stock names and prices (see picture opposite) or a larger block that can include a set of charts as well (see the screen shot below). There is a completely new set of options for this static version so you can have different stocks, currencies and commodities in this display compared to what you have running in your ticker.

Static Display with charts

The static display is also available via a new widget that the plugin provides. Currently the widget does not support charts but we’re looking at this as an option for the future.

I noticed that when you change the zoom level of Chrome, it will freeze. And you should try to delete your cache.

Just an FYI – WP Stock Ticker isn’t showing up in the WP Plugin Directory. Would really love to see this get added back in quickly. I’m needing a good stock widget.

Can you make the free version available and disable access to NASDAQ?

I want to try it out, and I have no intention of charting the NASDAQ (Just the FTSE100, if possible).

Aron, we’ll look into this and see if we can post the free version on our site here.

Meanwhile we’ve heard reports that NASDAQ data is not available on Yahoo! Finance anymore at all but we’ve yet to confirm this…

I recently purchased the WP stock ticker pro.
I managed to activate it for some sites but now it won’t activate. I thought this was an unlimited sites license so what’s the problem?

      Hi Ronen,

The license is certainly for unlimited web site.

Please open a support ticket and we’ll sort out what is going on
